Day 2 (again) Please read.

I am tired of the dry heaves every morning, the feeling like c&*p all, the insomnia and night sweats, the bloated abdomen and stomach making me look pregnant, the lack of desire to eat, not wanting to go anywhere, scared to drive my car, the red/yellow eyes, living on breath mints and visine before leaving the house.... I am only 33 years old. I don't want this for myself. I quite for 2 years once.... but started up last summer on a camping trip.... and never really quit again. PLEASE tell me I am not alone in the symptoms and that I CAN DO THIS!!!!

Welcome to SR, Ms Happy2BSober!

You sound like you lived up to that name with 2 years of sobriety in the past.

This might be the one that convinces you once and for all that you've had enough.

Maybe think about what you did during those 2 sober years, what you learned, what you can do differently this time around to make it stick.

As you know, sobriety isn't easy, but it's worth it.

I've been where you are (sick of being sick) and that was it for me. Enough was enough.

You can do this! There's lots of support here to help you.

((Hugs))

Welcome MsHappy2be
You are not alone. Thanks for the reminder of all the bad things that come from drinking.
None of us need to experience those things again.
You did it once so you can do it again.
You know life is better without.
Good luck.

Welcome to SR, glad that you're here and that you want to do something about your problem. You are not alone in this and life can be good again. Your body and your mind will thank you, it is worth it even if it seems very hard now. Please take care and detox safely, hugs, S.

Not alone at all. Lots of support here, from people long term sober, and other newbies like me, only two weeks sober myself. Stick around, there is great strength in numbers. And congratulations on making this decision!

You arre definitely not alone, the quitting for 2 years thing and then wondering why you can't do it again is something i have seen a few times actually...have you thought about approaching someone who has long term sobriety and emulating what they have done? IMO your most important lesson here, regardless ot your circumstances, is that if you could have quit and stay stopped by yourself you would not have picked up after 2 years...reach out for help:-)

You absolutely can do this. As many other wise people on these boards have said, "When the pain of staying the same is worse than the pain of changing, you'll change." It sounds like you're there. And you've tasted success for two great years before! You did it before you can absolutely do it again. I am humbly just completing my third week...you did it for TWO YEARS!!

I can't wait to read more of your posts, and discuss the journey.

Welcome!
