Dedubya - well, checking in

Hey guys and ladies. Sure you all dont know my story - relax, I will not go into the whole thing. Just touching base...I went to rehab in May, and stayed sober for 2 months which wasnt the goal.... I have made the decision, today, to stop again. I have a good life, and I dont know what brings me back to this- its completely crazy. Today it stops. and I thank all of you for your support over the months, some of you I feel are friends even though I dont know you. Well- two days of wd's and I am me again.....Happy Thanksgiving! I will enjoy it sober. Maybe ride my Harley and breathe.........................
Love to all

I only joined in September, but a big welcome back. It's great to know people are still there for you isn't it? I did the whole detox/rehab thing back in March 07 and then relapsed after 15 months sober. I don't have the answer for you regarding the 'why', but
it sure has something to do with being so immensely powerless over that poison.

That is a fantastic idea. I think there is no feeling like riding the Harley as a sober person, feeling the wind.

I think I will join you today. F the chilly weather. Maybe we shall find a parking garage in which to set off all the car alarms

Welcome back, and I'm glad to meet you , Dub

LOL Well I no longer own a scoot, but I had to laugh about setting car alarms off, every once in a while this dude who owns a Beamer parks next to my truck at work and when I start up my truck the 5.3 liters speaking through my custom exhaust sets off his alarm!!!

Welcome back DW, so what are you planning on doing to stay sober this time?

well Taz- I remember you. and I like the question. I am going to occupy my time that I don't work with physical activity. Dogs, Running, Recording Music, Recording some more music, and of course riding my Harley and my racing bicycles (which are pissed at me for not riding them).

Maybe it's a mental obsession that goes deeper than just whether or not the circumstances of your life are going well.

I remember very clearly to this day, dub, that moment one day when I realized that I hadn't thought about drinking, and really couldn't recall the last time I had thought about it. I can't explain it well, but I knew it was different. I was just starting my 4th step inventory around that time.

My feeling at the time has proven to be true. That obsession has never returned. Those thoughts have never returned. I continue to do the same actions that I did when I got sober.

Yeah Dub...hip hip hooray

I've been stumblin' on and off the wall myself....

Buying way too much musical equipment when I'm drinking...

Last little while... picked up 2 guitars (one an expensive Gibson), a Randall amp, a microphone, cords, a digital workstation and apparently I've
agreed to buy this guys Bass off of Craigslist (that's ok though,,,i really want one)...all bought while I was drunk...

Time to sober up and play some music dude!
