Newbie
Well, I had no trouble trying something new myself: booze: weed: coke.
And I have known the eyes already, known them all—
The eyes that fix you in a formulated phrase,
And when I am formulated, sprawling on a pin,
When I am pinned and wriggling on the wall,
Then how should I begin
To spit out all the butt-ends of my days and ways?
And how should I presume?
- T.S. Elliot

Welcome! This is a great community and I hope you stick around!
I visited SR for a whole year while I thought about quitting. All the great advice here and the oldies and the newbies helped me take those first shakey steps.
I didn't understand how sick I was: I didn't know....anything. People here helped me.
Keep coming back!

Ah well, who can blame T.S. Elliot? I imagined I took a literary door to drinking, and excesses; a kind of excuse I used to use. I'm probably still using it. Hard to shake the old ways of thinking. I wish anyone out there who is suffering that their pain will be lifted.

Welcome to SR Barkis, a sense of humor I feel is crucial to recovery, I would have to assume you are growing weary of the spirits, that the place they once took you too can no longer be reached or are no longer worth the price that one pays to get there correct?
