Eating healthy and sobriety

Since ive been getting sober i am so into taking care of my body. Ive only been sober for 8 weeks, but recently Ive become so health conscious. Its hard to believe because i spent years depleting my body of nutrients and vitamins with drug and alcohol use. Now im preparing awesome healthy dinners. No more fast food and junk. Life is getting better sober and I hope to live longer because if I kept using i was gonna die. Cooked some delicious wild alaskan salmon tonite with spinach salad and homemade dressing. Life is good. Wish that I would of had some1 to join me for my nice dinner

Good for you.....

I too live alone...I often ask an AA friend or neighbor
over to share dinner. I tend to cook for 4
glad I like leftovers...

Welcome to SR. It is good to find new and different things to do in recovery. I cannot think of anything better for a person in recovery than to get into healthy living. That is a decision that will continue to benefit you. We spent a lot of time doing a lot of damage to our bodies, why not put equal time into taking care of them now.

Hi Weezy, (((Hugs)))

That is SO AWESOME that your eating really well now too. So am I. I love it and food really tastes "great" now that I'm sober too. LOL

I can't seem to get into the swing of making smaller meals though. I'd say I'm still cooking for the whole town!! LOL But...you can also freeze some dinners for a later date and that's kinda fun too when your tired or stuff.

Love Pancake xo

If I could find someone to cook for me I'd likely eat healthy but I just hate to cook. I do buy organic and vegetarian frozen foods though.
