20 days, I feel like I really started recovery today!

So today I reached the big 20! It was at this point that I realised that up until now I have seen sobriety as some sort of punishment for being an alcoholic, until earlier today I realised that not for along time have I felt this happy and centred, sobriety is not a punishment I have thrust upon myself but instead a great privilege I have decided to take advantage of! Staying positive (and sober) Good luck to all the rest of you with your recovery!

I'm glad you're able to see sobriety as the gift it really is, with the ability to change your life for the better. Or as someone here said: my worst day sober is still better than my best day drinking. I completely agree.:ghug3

Great post, as you pointed out, it takes some time sober to see the possibility of the joys that sobriety can bring.
