hi everyone need advice
Hey my name is Kelly. I am trying to work up the courage to quit oxycodone cold turkey. I have been on it for yrs due to cancer and lower backpain. I am not in pain like before and want to quit but I am terrified of withdrawals. I also don't want to switch to other meds to stop. Is there anyone who can offer advice on at home detox. Thanks in advance!
Hi and Welcome,
We do not offer any medical advice here at SR.
You would need to talk to your dr about getting off the oxycodone.
I'm glad you are taking care of yourself and you'll find lots of support here.

thanks
Thanks for responding. I have an appt with my dr for medical advice. I'm hoping someone who has went through a similar situation could offer personal suggestions or just support. I've read through a lot of posts and this seemed a positive place where ppl share experiences. Thanks again.

Hey everyone. Been doing lots of research and most sites suggest dropping your dosage 25mg every few days. Gonna talk to my doc about it. If there is anyone who has went through wds at home I hope you will share w/me. Not looking for med advice just wanna know what others have experienced. Also w/me being new if there is another area of the site to find that info will someone let me know. Thanks guys its nice to know there r ppl to talk to who don't judge you.
Hi Kelly! I don't have any personal experience with oxycodone but I do with other drugs...however, it is important that you do speak with a medical professional. Withdrawal symptoms can vary between individuals, so it is always best to check with your doctor.
Also, I wanted to say that you could visit the substance abuse forum here. There you may find some additional support/info.
