Thanks for this thread, Fizzy. I don't think this is a self indulgent post in the least. Newbies have to know that they CAN get sober. Yes, it's hard. But, it's much easier than being a drunk...it really is.
Thanks for sharing.

This is an excellent thread.
Goob use SR, there are other programs besides AA, there is AA on line as well. There have been quite a few folks that have got and stayed sober using AA & other programs on line.
Just be willing to do what ever it takes and use what ever you can to stay sober. There is nothing to say that you can not use more then one program on line either.... just keep in mind that it is a good idea to talk only the program that you are in a meeting for, some folks are very dedicated to the program they use.

Just thinking about it, how much easier it is, no feeling ill, shakes, not spending as much money, no driving with one eye in the mirror looking for police, no eating mints all the time paranoid of smelling of drink, no planning the day round buying the drink, rotating round different shops, disposing of empties discretly, hiding bottles places, going to bed early worried you won't sleep it off by morning and of course somewhere amongst all that actually drinking.
Thanks, being sober is so much easier.
