Hi HelpInKy,
I can relate to your keeping busy comment earlier. After work is my riskiest time. I'm tired from a long day and tell myself that I "deserve" to relax. Yeah, like I should deserve to mess myself up.
What about getting a second job or a hobby that takes a lot of time and gets you away from some risk time? Posting on these message boards and joining the chat sessions can keep you busy for a while.

Inky, be careful. It takes alot more than a week before your out of the woods. Make sure you make some kind of a recovery plan. Like therapy, or meetings, because the urge to use will come up during the first year off of opiates. Congrats on your days clean. Hang in there. Your doing awesome.
I'm glad you're doing well. I can't speak for opiate addiction but in general after 5 or 6 days you aren't done, in my experience. Take care of yourself and remember those skills you used to get through the first few days, they may come in handy.
Congrats on your time!

Oh, I know Im not done, I was just mainly referring to the aches and irritation that comes within the first few days of coming off of them. The rest, Im pretty sure I can handle on my own. I cant remember the last time I felt this good.
Hello - wanted to let you know I'm cheering for you! I'm on day 2 coming off painkillers & going a little out of my mind right now, so I probably know how you've been feeling the last few days. Good luck & I'm thinking of you - we can do this!!!

Thanks guys, it means alot.
Kelly, heres how I looked at the first few days. It sucks, it sucks really bad, but things always get worse before they get better. Also, what youre going through right now, headaches, back aches, being short with everyone, and the worst of all, wanting to take them again, itll all be gone soon enough...and heres what sells it all for me, once you get through that, if you give in, youll eventually have to go through it all over again, and frankly, thats not something Im willing to do, and I hope its not something youd want to do either
Best advice I can give you, take hot showers, and treat this just like you would if you had a cold or something.

Hang on Kelly, I have been where you are, and it takes a few days to adjust. Take hot baths, drink chamomile tea, it helps calm the anxiety. That's what worked with me. Bless you for doing this. Your life will be so great when your free from the addiction. I know how you feel, and the first few days is no picnic. I'm cheering for you. God Bless You. Keep doing the next right thing, and you will be just fine in no time.

InKY, I wasn't taking such high doses of the percocets but just the same, I am tired of wanting to take them all the time and just sick of being broke. Today at 3:30pm EST was 24 hours for me. I have 2 children that I HAVE to take care of. Do you have any type of advice of where are you getting your energy from. For me it wasn't so much the "high" of the pills, it was the energy that they gave me. I got things done around the house, I did things with my children.........I want to do all that BUT WITHOUT THE PILLS!!!!!!
Please help!!!!!
