I do you, Suz...

I'm glad! Hopefully it helps judgemental as well as the "non" and "quiiet types" alike!!!

We "should" have one common interest (although we become blessed by a myriad of relationships here) ONE ALKIE/ADDICT HELPING ANOTHER!!

Again, my opinion! :ghug

If anything i can agree..I am colorful...LOL
But my mouth runs away with me sometimes.
But you are just the most compassionate most undrstanding caring soul.
That is a great quality not alot of people have.
Hold onto that. As low and stubborn as some of us can be. People like you are the ones who give ones like us hope.
And soemtimes that makes all the difference in the world.
Unconditional understanding and support.
Its what has kept me in this fight so long.

I love this place, it has such a variety of opinions and sometimes it gets heated here which is ok, I've been pulled up a couple of times and had some posts removed rightfully so. We are lucky to have the mod girls keeping SR in check, not a job i would be good at!

What an interesting thread, and something that has been on my mind.. For me, I try to answer as sensitively as I can, I try very hard to be truthful, whilst also not forgetting we can also add praise no matter how dire a situation. I am always aware that I do not know just how fragile the reader may be. Being truthful does not have to be rude or harsh, it just takes some thought... People ofter forget what we say to them, but rarely forget how we made them feel x

I havent read all the thread, but I do want to say this,(and I'll read the thread when I get back from my 3 days off) I was once hurt by something someone said to me once, I felt they couldn't understand me. I thought about it for days and finally realised that they were right. Some of the things that have helped me the most have been rather difficult to swallow. A bit of tact helps too though !

nicki,

I sincerely appreciate your support since I joined this group last month. I am proud to be your friend and look forward to seeing you here at SR.

The diverse experience here is one of the greatest sources of encouragement and support I've ever found, which is why I keep coming back. I only have less than a month sober, but that's much longer than I've been sober in many a year, thanks in large measure to SR.

Thanks for being part of my new life.

One day sober is something to be thankful and proud of.
Its especially new people like you who come here and remind alot of us alot of things. And help every one of us more than you could ever know.
New and old alike. We can learn alot from each other. I know I learn soemthing new everyday. And become more grateful for something new everyday.
All BS aside. The good most definately outweigh the bad here at SR.
I have been coming here alomost everyday since I found it 2 yrs ago.
I am lost without it.
I have become sincerely concerned and interested in alot of people here.
I never thought I could do so with people I have never met f2f.
And thats another thing that makes it that much more wonderful.
You get to know people for who they are. Not what they look like. Not what you can see or hear from other people. Just what you get from taling with them.
I dont know what I would have done without SR.
