I am a bird,
but my wings are bound and broken.
Crippled by my own fears,
of living my life with no one.( but our addictions)
I am a crystal, (I used to live with)
you can see right through me.
Always loving; always wanting,
but knowing it can never be, (anymore)
I am a feild mouse,
a small quiet prey.
searching for the high I just keep throwing away
I offer up my heart and then,
they snach it and throw it away.
I am dreamer, of high hopes
I never give up no matter what.
but will never be enough.
I am a diamond in the rough,
my beat heart's been through a lot.
But maybe, just maybe, there's a chance,
And I'm not givng up, I'm not.
so I will keep going through an on
in the rooms of SR my real support keeps time.
eventhough HWF says it's eaiser day by day
the clock ticks slow as we used to throw it away
might just be me I can't tell
maybe Wes has the answer we need today.

I just wanna add to all those out there....
I DO NOT have much... but what I DO HAVE ..... is a little bit of the wonders of love and support in my life....Right on -- this forum plus others-- We're givin' a gift!
If you are on here, and YOU think that alcohol/drugs have screwed with your life,,,,, then I can attest,... I belong knowing YOU!!! Today, and just for today, I choose to not pick up.... not take that first drink or drug that will put me 2 steps back when I'm just triyin' to get a half of a step forward today.
I'm NOT uni-unique! Either are YOU!!!! YOU, who may not post and are feelin' like your the ONLY ones in the world right now going thru what you're going thru..... and listening to us.... and relating.....
Guess what....????? YOU have found a place, a sanctuary if you will, of people who are just like YOU and I...... Good people who have been dying for a long time now!!! Us, who want a BETTER life than what we've known!....What's been killing us and our families, our loved ones, etc....!!!! WE CANNOT DO THIS ALONE!!! I WANT TO SHOUT IT FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.... BUT CAN YOU HEAR ME????!!
