Total Newbie...Hi Everyone
Hi! I'm new to the site as well as the world of forums. My mom suggested I join so that I could maybe stay clean this time. I've done just about everything and have a really hard time saying no to offers of drugs. Alcohol isn't a problem for me, I've had too many good-bad-examples if that makes any sense but when it comes to drugs I pretty much will try anything. I want to be sober so that I can finish college and have a happy, healthy, productive life. Anyway, looking forward to meeting new friends and conversing with people that understand my situation. Thanks in advance for the support and positivity!

Hi Bren. I am here now for booze, but there was a time when coke ruled my life. I beat that just like you can beat drugs. We are a very good support structure and you will find someone is always hear to listen. I hope to see you around.
It's time to change!

I "diddo" what C23 said all the way around! I'm a boozer and an ex-cokehead, crankster, junkyard junkie!... You name it and I "probably" did it! This is a great place to meet a ton of people who are in the same boat as you. We may have different addictions.... but the commonality is that drinking/drugging has been screwing up our lives and we want a solution through sobriety and being clean --- We're learning that WE CAN'T DO THIS ALONE! We've got to have support from others who relate to what we're going through. Some days are UP... others are down and they suck. But we get it out here and get feed-back to others going through it or have gone through it and hold eachother up to the best of our ability through the wire.
I look forward to seeing more of you around and gettin' to know ya!
Glad you listened to your Mom and are checking us out. I have a 20 year old Son and it's always great to hear him say that I had a good idea, although he hates to admit it. lol
Hope you stick around and share more whenever you feel comfortable.

Welcome Bren.
Your mother is trying to do what is good for you in the long run. You are lucky to have her support and a special relationship so you are able to talk to her about these things. I wish you luck. Recreational drug use has ruined many people's college plans.

Welcome to the family Bren!:ghug3
You might find a lot of useful info and suggestions in the Substance Abuser forum too. I'm just a wino and have no experience with drug abuse so all I can say is Welcome! I'm glad you're here.:ghug3

Welcome! I'm glad you are here. I wish I had started listening to my Mother when I was younger instead of waiting until I was 32. I now know that my Mother is one of the wisest people in the entire world. :love
Its awesome to see the younger generation
coming in for help. That means you have ur
entire life to be what u want to be. To be
a graduate and go into the field of ur choice.
To be a proud daughter, mom, sister, aunt,
friend and possibly a sponsor to someone.
First things first tho.
Taking the first step admitting u are powerless
over drugs or alcohol and that ur life has become
unmanageable.
That's a good beginning,
One step at a time with one day at a time.
You can do it. Thumbs up for you.
Thanks for letting me share.
