" I was tested...And I passed!!!

Hi! It's great to be here! Thanks to all who welcomed me!...I passed a very big test this weekend! My husband and kids are out of town. He's in Texas for his job, and the kids (teenagers) went to SC to go four-wheeling. I've been alone for the first time since getting clean...135 days. Friday night, those demons were screaming in my head saying, "it's o.k...no one will know...call your 'connection. Just buy a little bit". Before I got clean, my husband would go out of town and that was my time to really use....total freedom to do so.
I woke up this morning, so happy that I resisted that urge to use! I learned in rehab to "play the tape all the way through", and that's what I did.
Each time I fight that urge to use, it makes me stronger, and for once I can say. " I'm proud of myself."

Congrats! Those voices can be tricky and very deceiving. I am glad you didn't let them win. Just know that you are now a little stronger in your sobriety because of not using. We do recover.

Excellent news change!! Doesn't it feel good to feel that healthy pride? You have to go out and treat yourself to something today. Perhaps a new pair of shoes?

congrats! I had my first 'alone weekend' last weekend and it freaked me out going into it, but boy I felt proud when I came out unscathed. Doesn't it just empower you? Good job!

I am proud of you too. When my wife and kids used to leave town, I would be drunk the entire time. Good on ya for resisting those voices.

Congratulations!! The first time my husband went out of town was when I felt like I was really tested too! Good for you!!
