Day 17!!!!!!!

I have gone 17 days without alcohol!!!! I know the fight is far from over (and may never be) but I'm sober for longer than I have been in a long time. I'm planning on spending my Saturday off doing a whole lot more than vomiting, shaking, sweating and regretting the night before. It's a start. Now if I could only sleep soundly throughout the night. That will come with time, hopefully. Losing a bit of sleep is still FAR BETTER than the alternative.

I'm winning my life back one day at a time.

:praying

Sleeping soundly is one of the benefits of sobriety I have found. I always thought I HAD to drink so I would sleep. Not true.

A big congrats on 17 days! You can do this!

Nice going with your sobriety. I have to say that it is so nice waking up without feeling like crap because of excess booze the night before. It's actually kinda nice when I wake up feeling like crap and knowing it isn't because of booze. Your sleeping will most likely get better shortly. Keep doing it and congratulations.

Congratulations!

I woke up today--early even--I can't remember the last time I appreciated a Saturday morning as I'm normally hungover. I got up thinking about all I would get accomplished instead of what the heck did I do, did I embarrass myself? I'm with ya, it's a great feeling.

Congratulations! I am on day 7 and have problems sleeping as well. I find that a big glass of milk right before bed helps.

Thanks everyone! And thanks Carol for the link. I ended up wasting my day playing video games and cooking. But, we all need a day like that at least once every week or two. It was nice because I chose to do nothing. I wasn't incapacitated because of a hangover. Day 18! Feeling good. Going to take a late night shower to help get sleepy. Night all!
