Rowen,
I just Knew IT! I loved that book, and that's always as I pictured you (as that character) before we got all high tech with the profiles pictures etc.
I used to be merlotmamma. That's what I used to drink, and I have a few kids. When I had my year sober birthday, I asked that it be changed..
Eh, I'm a creature of the obvious.

It's my "street" nickname, but most of my oldest friends call me "G." One of my classmates started calling me 'G' (for Garry) when I was a kid and it stuck. Over the years I've been called G-solo, G-dog, G-man, G-force, etc... Once the movie New Jack City came out with a character named Gmoney...it was a wrap.
When I was signing on for the first time I felt that my real self was buried under so much garbage from and around my drinking that I didn't even really know who I was anymore. I'm getting sober because I want to get to know that person. Still a work in progress, so I doubt I'll be changing my name anytime soon!

Hi everyone, I love this thread. I choose my username because I love sunshine, sitting in my deckchair feeling the sun on my face (sunscreen and hat on of course). And I want another baby. We have been trying for 2 1/2 yrs and 4 miscarriages later, think that the 3 kids we have are what is meant to be. And you know, I actually feel okay about that now.

I thought "cokegirl" might get misinterpreted on a recovery site, so I became colagirl.

Well, I tried others to register (like a pen name Geo and Geokozmos) but they were not accepted it said it was used already by others. So i chose this, which consits of my great-grandfather's name (not in use any more since generations). So that is why.

Hilltopper is because growing up we lived up on top of the highest hill in our city. My Dad used it as his CB Handle when we went rv'ing. My ancestors are all from Scotland which were often times called Hilltoppers which could be the second reason my Dad made it up. There are a couple of Colleges that use the same name. I wonder if they got the idea from me?

Mine is NOT my initials. It's from a poem by ee cummings, (will you teach a...)
Ask a simple crazy thing,
Singing in the snow.
When I got clean, it was January, in Chicago... I was pretty crazy, and simple, and I woke up in the snow. I think it fits. I'm still a simple crazy thing... but I sleep inside now.

The way I always thought of your name was "NO MOM" (while drinking) "OR LOT MOMMA" (while sober)
Guess I'm just weird!
