York,
Ah yes the feeling of youth. I was 35 feeling like I was 50, now its not so bad. I love the feeling of being healthy and running on pure air. I have so many things to be thankful for. Each day I get up and ask my HP for guidance for that day. I'm loving this! Great job on feeling young again!

I ended up in a situation tonight where others were drinking free wine!
I had a coke and fair play to my friends, they all respected what I'm trying to do and didn't offer me drink or talk about it.
That's a major barrier I've overcome!

York, I have yet to encounter that. I don't know how I would deal with it. I know I wouldn't drink but, I would hope they wouldn't force me to leave. You have some great friends for them to respect you like that. Congrats! Keep up the good work, YOU deserve it! Prayers

Hi, I have two days without smoking pot and this is my first day trying not to drink. Don't know if I'll make it but I'm finally ready to try. I'm finally ready to lose some of my "whiskey" weight and save some money for a change. Just thought I'd check in. Maybe I'll do the month thing as well.
I know that even the moderation sites promote doing a month alcohol free to start. The concept is that you can re evaluate and try moderation after that if you want to. For me, I'd rather skip it all together if I can just have one or two drinks. It would be a tease and start the cravings all over. That would just be too painful.

Cheers guys!
A big milestone today as I have just woken up on the 7th day of my journey!
The big test is that it's Friday and payday and I'm gonna have to skip the ritual after-work drinks tonight.
Oh well... it has to be done.

Hi guys. I've been away for two weeks. I'm afraid I fell off the wagon briefly but am now on day 3 of my second attempt. I can't believe my self discipline let me down!
Very disappointed in myself.
