Thanks, Barb! It slowed me down, that's for sure. I need to keep busy - if you know what I mean! You and I have almost the same sober time - I'm proud of us!

Least, you'll go in stages. The first week or two for me were very hard. I was so determined to make it back out alive, though, I just kept trudging along. Not particularly enthused about it in the beginning. I wasn't really happy - just putting in time - but every day seemed a little easier & brighter. It would be great if we could wake up one morning and have all the misery behind us. Stay the course, least - you'll surprise yourself in a few weeks when you begin to feel human again. Then you can start working on some of the issues that are keeping you from having a happy life. The temptations & longings are almost gone for me. The best thing is, though - I don't feel bitter and sorry for myself like in the beginning. I feel alive again, and look forward to something other than my next drink or trip to the bar. I can't believe I allowed that to become my life. Love you, thinking of you all the time, & praying. Love, Joanie

Drs Meds and sheer incompetance
so I have been dealing w alot of pain in the recent past
my dr told me not to take so much ibuprophen as it is bad for the kidneys and mine dont need any more dammage
then they prescribe codine x2 and cancel the order on the third one
they then prescribed another narcotic which has been helping as the dr told me I could take up to a certain amount per day
this was never put in writing and once again I am out of the medication and unable to refill it
I am so sick of "proffessionals" who are unreachable, do not doccument changes in meds and usage
my dr is now in the "islands" somewhere and cant be reached so I am left out to dry, take enormous amounts of ibuprophen which really isnt helping anyway
makes me want to just go and drink and screw the whole deal
DR F*CKHEAD and his office are going to hear about this as is the insurance company who for some unknown reason actually pays the office

ungrateful bratty kid (20) who's mad cause I wouldn't let her use my computer. So slammed down the lid of the laptop and stormed out of the house (into a real rain storm) slamming the door behind her. Like it's my fault for the laptop being slow, like it's my fault for not 'taking the bait' and offering my computer to use, like it's my fault that her life is in the toilet.

ungrateful immature whiny little snot!

Since I began abstaining from alcohal I have really stepped up my coffee intake. Well tonight I really did. I drank half a pot a few hours before bed and now feel all crappy and jittery. And of course I can't even think of sleeping right now. This guarantees I'm gonna be tired tomorrow.

oh well, it's still better than passing out and waking up tomorrow with a massive hangover.

Me too Ruch-I'm drinking way too much coffee & diet sodas. Also have a sweet craving including chocolate which also has caffeine. I'll fall asleep but then wake up in the wee hours unable to stay asleep-it's horrible. I guess the word "moderation" isn't in our vocabulary? You're right, though, tired beats a hangover. We'll get it all sorted out eventually.

I'm a regular whinorama this week, but I have another biggie!!

Signs on restroom doors!!! Why can they not just say MENS and LADIES?? Now see, that would be easy. I am a lady and would know which one was mine.

But nooooosirreebob! They have these peculiar stick people who are identical except one has a skirt and a Queen who wears bifocals and has run out of hormones could easily get confused and have to hide in the stall hoping the man at the urinal that she did not see on the way in....finished

And to make it more confusing, they also have unisex restrooms now...how is a Queen to know????

At my work all toilets have skirt/trouser signs to indicate unisex but evidently there is unwritten rule re which is which. And the guys get the large disabled toilet while I have to get changed in/out of sports gear in the skinny female designated one. Ouch as my arms hit the wall :-(
