Hi Katey,
lots of people get sober in AA,

lots of people get sober in other recovery groups too, check out Carol's links in her post.

I use WFS, Women for Sobriety, it is not a 12 step program, and fits me like a glove.

Good Luck in your recovery

Seren

Hey Katey, welcome to SR. My first meeting was a smoking meeting and it was horrible. The meeting itself was ok but the thick smoke was terrible. I tried a few others before I found a place I can call home. I fought the idea of going to AA for far to long. Now that it is a part of my recovery I keep wondering what took me so long to go. I don't think it is which recovery program you choose only that you choose one that works for you. Happy hunting.
