I like to welcome the newcomers and throw out a few quick thoughts about what worked for me, then I thank my children and those who helped me in my recovery. Then I close with a brief inspirational reading. I always try to keep it short and humble.

I hope it goes great for you tanya!

hey tanya - say this, ad libbed from steve martin:

[arms in the air] Thank you very much. Thank you, this is too much, thank you, thank you! [bows] Okay! Well, I didn't expect this. [bows] Thank you very much. Okay. We're havin' some fun now, eh, folks? Okay, it's, uh, great to be here at AA. Um, I know that sounds phony 'cause every AAer in the world comes out no matter where they are and they always go "HEY! IT'S REALLY GREAT TO BE HERE!" And it really sounds fake. But, believe me, I am sincere when I say, "HEY! IT'S REALLY GREAT TO BE HERE!" Okay, no, seriously, it is great to be here. And, um, well, actually, it's great to be ... here. [steps one pace to his right] Okay, so-- No! It's great to be here! [a few steps to his left] This is where it's great to be. [walks upstage] No! It's great to be here, too! [turns, heads back downstage] Well, I'll never forget how great it was to be over there. [back where he started] Okay, we're movin' now. [takes a glass of water from stool] 'Scuse me. [sips water through straw, puts glass back on stool, spits out a mouthful of water to his left] All right.

congrats on the new doo, tellus!

Yup. Right now they have clinics inside one of the high school gyms on Sundays until the season starts. I'm not sure what all this entails... they've never played little league before .

All I know is one boy has a black eye already and they're just breaking in their new gloves .

I think I'll let Mr. GT deal with this... I did the girl scout things with the girls for years .

There's a cool new product out that helps break in gloves really fast. You spray it on and bake the glove in an oven for something like 5 minutes. Works pretty well, much faster than glove oil! I found it at Wally-Mart.

Wow! Really? I'll mention this to the husband. I don't think the boys will have much luck breaking em in if they keep catching with their eyes :rof.

Thanks for all the advice. I liked em all. But K...I don't wanna spit. I am not a good spitter and I have a nice shirt on. I'm sure I would spin ALL down the front of it.
