148 Days Sober
Hi Everyone
I'm a newcomer to this site my name is the bookie.I received that nickname
from the halfway house that I was at in western Pa.(was there 4 mos)
The residents there named me the bookie for my obsession to my sports Fantasy Leagues and football forecasting.
However there was no gambling involved I do it strictly for fun.
Some may say it's substitution for my alcoholism but for now it's one day at a
time.Today is 148 days of Sobriety for me which is a miracle, over 5months ago I couldn't string 2 days together.
My drug was and is Alcohol,I drank obsessively for 15 years.I thought I would
die from this fatal disease but my Higher Power intervene and took me to a
Rehab in Central Pa for 28days and 4 months in the 1/2way house.
It wasn't my first try at recovery-myfifth and I know that I have to make the
days count instead of counting the days this time-that's all I got for now.
