Red face Changes

If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies. - Source Unknown
Before I found recovery I was much like the caterpiller, limited to crawling around, my vision blocked by the weeds, grass, and trees of life. Feeling like I had walked 1000 miles but in reality only moving few feet.

Today, I have wings. I can see the world from so many different perspectives. The sky, to the ground and everything in between is all within my grasp. When I feel like I have gone 1000 miles I have actually moved more than a few feet.

I am grateful for change as it has given me a new life I was unable to even concieve prior to finding sobriety.

Nan, your post is fantastic and I'm glad you feel so happy with your recovery.

I have found my wings here too, thanks to some very special people who shared themselves with me and showed me that I, too, could fly. Every once in awhile, the wings sputter a bit, but they always continue to help me fly.

You know, I have read about fear - that is not failure that we really fear, it is the soaring that we fear. I'm glad you are flying!

I wish I could learn to fly, I keep trying, but my feet won't leave the ground.

sometimes the trick is to stop trying so hard Sax

I fought myself so much...

I finally decided that I wasn't that bad and tried hard to accept myself. Still do.
the trade off there is accepting I have a problem and can never drink again - and doing something real and tangible about that, everyday.

I know you can fly Sax - maybe you just need to look at different ways to do that, hon
