I'm very depressed tonight about Tammy. She's in the hospital tonight and won't be home until at least Monday. She's not doing good at all. I can't write much about it tonight. It's too hard. I guess it's good our topic at the meeting tonight was step 1. A lot of people were talking about where their powerless over a lot of things in their life besides alcohol. But alcohol has to be at the top of your list. So that's on my mind tonight. I'm powerless about what happens to Tammy but I have to always remember first and foremost that I'm powerless over alcohol.

Barb, I'm sorry to hear about Tammy too. I hope everything turns out okay for her.

Yeah, I was always a dog person until my last girlfriend. She had two kittens that I got really attached to. When we broke up and she moved out a few months ago, I was okay with her leaving. I missed the cats. So a week later, I went to a local shelter and adopted a pair of cats (brothers). They're very loving, and keep me warm when they curl up with me on the couch when I'm watching TV.

We have two young cats and they are a part of our family. Even though everyone mainly talks about the unconditional love of dogs, cats are loving, caring creatures. I often take them for granted but one of our cats in particular has given me comfort more than once.
