Rose...
Well Done!

I too keep an alcohol free home
so the "pour it" is not for me.

When I was newly sober...I took all
the bar stuff out.
I sold the bar and stools
Wrapped the crystal glasses
into 6's...gave them as gifts!
Did the same for un opened bottles.

An AA friend came by and we
went down to the park ...left the open
ones on a bench.

Freedom!

Blessings

Rose,

This is a great thread! When you (all of you included) do things like giving the bottles that come to you away, it gives me hope, and it puts me in the stronger place I was 3 years ago when sober and doing those things, giving it away, feeling comfortable saying "no" when offered a drink. I really appreciate your honesty about all the thoughts going through your mind, ok to go back & retrieve it, etc. that is so me! But those thoughts can be overruled, and it is so much better, you are right, than the self-hatred and shame & stuff that comes from relapsing, boy do I know that right now! You are a terrific example staying strong!

Rose :-)
