My Intro
My Intro
Hello everyone,
My name is Jenny and I found this site on a search engine. I've been to other forums like this before but this one seemed like a great fit. I hope to find other like-minded and -experience people to chat with and (hopefully) glean some good advice from.
I am a drug addict and have been using for 12 years (I'm 26). I was hooked on OxyContin, Vicodin, Percocet, Codeine and a huge array of other opiates as well as pot and alcohol. I finally admitted I had a problem on March 29 of this year. I joined a rehab out-patient center and kicked the Oxy cold turkey (for the sixth or seventh time). I stayed clean for 20 days before relapsing, but went immediately back to recovery and stayed clean for 54 days before relapsing again on alcohol. I didn't go back immediately and have been fighting my usual battle of whether or not I have a problem with alcohol again.
I was kicked out of my rehab center before I relapsed my second time because I didn't attend for a week. It was incentive enough for me to go get loaded. I don't go to meetings because I have had continous negative experiences there. I am hoping that I can find help online or through other sources besides NA.
Forgive me for the long post but I wanted to explain my situation. I look forward to meeting some of you nice folks!

Welcome to SR, Jenny! This is such a good site for support when you need it. I am also 26 and struggling with an addiction to alcohol and have seen much improvement in my addiction. Keep posting and stay strong!! ((((HUGS))))
You're wondering if you have a problem with alcohol again?? Yes, you are an addict.
Someone who has used as long as you and started as early as you has an extremely diseased brain. Your best chance for recovery is to stay in a treatment program for a minimum of 1 yr. and then mtgs. for even longer. You made attempts at recovery. Stick with it. What do you have to do differently? Everything.
