Hi I'm mtnmagic....
Hi I'm mtnmagic....
and I am an alcoholic. I am on day four of recovery. I found this site on my second day. I read alot, but couldn't post, because I was shaking so hard I couldn't use the keyboard. I'd like to reach out to all of you and let you know that I'm looking forward to using this forum as a means of support. I also have been going to AA meetings. Can you tell this ain't the first time I've been down this road before? I pray that I can make it work this time. For now, I'm gonna worry about today. I will stay sober for today. Breathe in and out stay sober and get to work. No solving the worlds problems today!
Thanks for reading....
Thanks for reading....
Thanks splendra. I'm just glad to be able to read all this. I live in a small rural community and work the swing shift. Getting to AA meetings can be a challenge. So I'm so glad to have stumbled on this forum to add to my support system.
Welcome mtnmagic and other new sober people. I go to AA meetings and use this site also. I am sure it is differcult with the night shift. Be sure days off to go to meetings and get a sponsor to call everyday. Opps, I have not called mine today. Will see him tonight at meeting. This is a great service for all alcoholics/addicts etc. keep posting.

Hi, and Welcome! I'm glad I was able to make many, many meetings during my years of sobriety. An oldtimer used to say, "There may come a time you won't be able to make meetings, so you'd better have some in the bank to draw on."
I'm pretty much wheelchair bound now, so I haven't been to an AA meeting for nearly three years. It was a Godsend to me when I was directed to SR by another recovering alcoholic...that was a little over a year ago, and this has become my 24/7 Meeting Room.
It doesn't matter how many days/months/years we are sober...everyone needs the support of others who have been there and are willing to share their experience, strength, and hope.

Hi Mtnmagic, This is how I feel about the support I've gotten here at SR.,
LOL.
10 days today, thankyou my new friends. This song is dedicated to all, the old, the new, and the renewed!
Title: Lean on me
Lyrics:
Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you don't let show
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call me
So just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
Lean on me...
There are no problems in life, only solutions.

Wow!
Just got home from work, it is late at night...I logged on and saw this warm wonderful welcome! Thank you! Made it through another day, and unless I sleepwalk....will wake up sober to day number 5. Thanks again for being here!
I have lived here in the mountains of Lake Tahoe for over 20 years. It is a magical place to live. I chose the name to remind myself of the spiritual magical aspects of the environment around me. I am blessed to live in such a serene place....Course...I like to hike too...LOL!
Day 5 is going well. I will stay sober today!
Thanks for asking hope3.
