Good morning all! Day seven today, dry July is going well. It's a cloudy day, but my heart is full of sunshine. I was having my cup of coffee when I felt something on my neck, and it was this tiny, green caterpillar crawling on me. So cute! I put it on a rose, and I hope it is doing well.
Have a lovely day, lovely people!

Thanks everyone. Basically @FreeOwl, it was an intense fortnight or so bender in May - where cider had turned to vodka - that put me in ICU after being two months abstinent (alcohol poisoning or alcohol + SSRI withdrawal, I'm not sure). I remember almost nothing from the bender (housemates had apparently found me in a heap in my room) or much of the ICU stay, other than a horrifying delirium, where I thought the nurses were trying to kill me. I learned later that I'd developed pneumonia through being on a ventilator, which kept me in ICU for eighteen days. I was also medically detoxed, and was in hospital a total of three weeks. It took several days to be able to walk and talk at full strength again after discharge. I have a big scar on my elbow from where I had also apparently smashed something, which had been stitched up. I guess this will always remind me.
Day 49.
Day 49.
Sorry that you had to experience all of that Tetrax.
I havent really been able to talk through all of the stressors I'm dealing with and they seem to be piling up on me. Might try to get a therapist soon. Sobriety feels good, it's like being a new person. I think I'm making much better choices.
Anyway, I'll be staying sober today. 188.

Was a time, we all looked up
To the bounty poured
Into our cup
A bygone day of mystery
We sought our Way
Beyond what we could see
Nor books, nor phones, but relationship
With something Big
To Guide our Trip
Now it seems we’ve maybe lost
A certain something…
A precious cost
But here within, and there without
The Connection Lives
Let’s have no doubt
And turn our gaze to skies above
With daily Wonder
Receiving Love
Happy Friday, All

Into our cup

Truth of the day:
1.) I am an addict/alcoholic with a progressive, fatal psychological condition.
2.) Acceptance of that allows me to take action and have faith in a Power that removes my fear/struggle.
3.) I am free.

Good morning everyone, just checking in. Working on day 15 today. I found a sponsor and I'm going to start working the steps actively. I currently have family visiting and we're having a good visit.
Congrats to everyone putting in the effort to build up your days.
Tetrax glad you're here.
Have a good weekend!

congratulations!
and congratulations on jumping into working the steps…. I believe you will find it to be the path to a rich and cherished life.
took me many years to finally surrender my own way and will and am now - finally - after a good decade of sobriety - working them in earnest.
Today, let me be guided
When I breathe
Let my breath take in Love
Light and Healing
Let me breathe out forgiveness
Acceptance and surrender
Today, make me useful
That I might be of service
Where there is need
Let me be of Spirit’s will
Let Love, Light and Healing
Work through me
Today, bring me Serenity
When my heart beats
Let it beat Gratitude
For these cherished gifts
Let me walk humbly
In your guidance

im finding them very helpful with depression, anxiety and ADHD in conjunction with medication.
I believe after a year of truly giving myself to stepwork, I’ll be able to work toward medically-supervised transition off medication for those conditions.
for nearly 20 years I remained stubbornly resistant to even trying it, making every argument outside of the book to avoid just trying what it says in the book.
now, I’m only on step 3 and already seeing remarkable things happening in my life.

IMO There is always a workaround for any recovery program that can get you started in said program.
Free, good looking with the program work. Surrender to win, I like it.
