One Year & Over Part 89
Toots, riding a horse is brilliant. I love horses, the smell, their personalities. Wonderful. Hope your mum enjoys her new home, I’m sure she will.
Thanks Dee, I’m getting there!
Least, good news on the health plan enrollment. Sounds like a good and well deserved plan for you.

Congratulations, SE! Mags is right - 10 years is fantastic
Least, so agree on choice instead of fight. Happy to hear you will have some new benefits.
Toots, I can see why the downside of your mum’s move is the fact that she might need to move again. However, none of us knows how our lives will play out and I’m glad your mum has the sense to move when she needs to. So many fight it. It can be tough on children to realize their parents are aging. *Hugs*
Mags, agree on the meds. All but 2 of mine are 90-day scripts and those two aren’t allowed to be. Yes, time flies … a month now feels like a week at most. There are not enough hours in a month to do what I used to get done in a day or two…
Hi Suze, Dee, SG, CK, Purps and everyone. Have a good one

Congrats, SE! 10 years is HUGE!!!
My Dad was playing a gig the night I was born. My Mom went into labor and told her mother that she wasn't going to the hospital until my Dad got home. They called the bar where he was playing (about 25 minutes away) and he hopped into his car to rush home. He was speeding thru a park, just a few blocks from home, when the cops pulled him over and asked where he was going in such a hurry. He said "my wife's having a baby!" so the cops said "we'll help you out" and gave my parents a police escort to the hospital where I was born a few hours later. Turns out that one of the police officer's that night later became my Grandma's neighbor and I got to be friends with him when I attended college years later.
Have a Happy Hump-Day, overs!

FBL, that is a great story on your birth. I had a cousin who was pulled over taking his wife to hospital for birth and the cops also gave him an escort.
SE, you must have gotten sober young. Kudos to you. That is huge.
I am so dang grateful for everyone of you who chooses to get sober and live life on life's terms. Thanks everyone.

That’s great, FBL!
I continue to be so grateful for SR and especially this thread. I rarely think about alcohol but it does pop up once in awhile. Although it’s no longer a strong urge, I also realize that I simply can’t and don’t want to take any chances. Having all of you here is simply priceless.

I remember when I was coming up to being one year sober and excited at going to join the ‘Overs’. I couldn’t believe I was a year sober.
Life is better sober. It’s not all sweetness and light. It’s life with no hiding in a bottle. It makes me happy that with any problems or celebrations I don’t feel the need to pick up a bottle.
When I learnt the recovery part of sobriety, I understood staying sober and what toots mentioned. I wanted to rather than had to.
Sobriety Rocks!
Have a good day my friends xxxx
Good morning Sassy
