Just finished my last full day of work for a while.. I work 6am - 12pm
tomorrow then I’ll be on reduced hours depending on how I go with my treatment.
ive been told that I can work as little or as often as I can and want, and that my job will be there for me as long as I like which is nice to know.
On a sadder note, I had to call in to the hospital this afternoon for a quick appointment with my medical oncologist ( I also have a surgical one) and he told me that he and my other specialist will complete my forms for my life insurance and superannuation next week if I want to lodge them. I know that to be eligible they both have to agree and sign off that they believe my life expectancy is under 24 months. That was a slap in the face... I’m relieved that this will take any financial pressure off if I find I can’t work but it was not what I expected at the end of an already long, crappy week. Others in my Facebook group have had to approach the docs about their forms so it doesn’t feel good that mine is offering them freely.
Sorry I vent so much on here. It’s become a running commentary of my life..
