24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 481
Jeez! I’m so behind and so bad! I have not been keeping up on the thread, and I’m sorry.
Everything is actually great here. I hope all of you are well. Ive had a few odd cravings, sitting at home all the time where I always liked to drink, alone. But, I’m not going to do that. Strangely, during this bad and sad time, I'm doing just fine.
Love and Peace to you all!

Hi all. I have posted in a while but thank you so much for keeping me on the list. I am struggling at the moment, no more than anyone else I suspect. This lockdown is driving me crazy, I rely on keeping busy to keep sober and I can't do that now. I am entertaining thoughts of drinking as mad as I know that is. I am full of gratitude, I give thanks all day for my situation - moved into my new house end of January, got freezer full of food, got money in the bank, got my health, got a lovely garden (didn't have any outdoor space at old house), the list goes on and on but I still feel down and depressed. I live alone, which usually I like but not seeing anyone is getting to me. Sorry to moan, I know I am lucky but I have terrible negative thoughts in my head and I can't get rid of them. Thank you for listening.
I have a friend who works from home and also lives alone and he has been doing a lot of Skype or Zoom types of meetings with his friends- he even told me he played cards with his parents via video the other day!
Do you have friends you could connect to in this way? I wonder if it would help you feel less lonely.
I know this is a hard time and I just hope you know that you are always supported here- just keep reaching out. And please don't feel the need to drink- it won't solve anything, and I know you know that.
Anytime a desire comes up just say "cancel" out loud or in your head.
You are stronger than those cravings and you are worth your sobriety.
PM if you need to
Dear yukonm, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending thoughts of peace and comfort to Henry and Craig's family.
venuscat - sorry to hear about your family troubles, it seems that some people lack gratitude for what they have and can only complain. People who can feel gratitude for what they have are more content and are less stingy with others.
to everyone going through hard times right now.
I had thoughts of drinking earlier, but I feel like meditation and starting to do qigong really help shift me out of that place, I'm so grateful I have a nice clean room today and it was a lovely sunny day outdoors.
Another 24, please.

Hi,
I’ve been Zoom-ing Meetings for a couple weeks now . It’s been hit or miss on getting exact meetings (ones that look interesting by the title alone). The reason? You need the Meeting Password now due to the Zoom Bombs. Still, I am finding them.
I’m using my Search feature, typing in AA Online Meetings. Simple enough. Just wanted to share that with a bit of patience, you can join in a meeting.
Since we’ll be required to wear masks now in grocery stores etc. (Los Angeles area), my sister volunteered to make a bunch for my little Family! She said I’ll be receiving them by this weekend/Monday.Brought tears to my eyes actually. Is this our ‘ New’ Normal? She’s even including some official N95 Masks. Which I’ll save for ??? Who knows, just very generous of her. She had them for her house projects.
Stay safe everybody. And Please Stay At Home.
It’s making a good dent in the flattening of the curve here in California, per our Governor Newsom.
