Good call ChopStick! 79 nights complete. 3 weeks to the century mark. I never get to eat Turkish food because the rest of my family is not a fan. But I am so I think we are hitting the local Turkish restaurant that night to celebrate!

81 days down, life to go! (in a good way)
Missed a bunch of hateful calls and texts from my brother in the middle of the night last night because he got to that level of mean blackout drunk. I do NOT miss having to pick up the pieces after a night like that!

I was going to suggest we all meet for a nice meal at a Turkish restaurant, but given where everyone is located we might as well just meet in Turkey!
Hang in there ChopStick. The saying that laughter is the best medicine has never been more true to me than it is now. When I am feeling down and need a recharge I watch something funny. Like, stupid funny. Even if it's just a brief youtube clip. Absurd humor like old Chris Farley SNL skits or a movie like Anchorman tend to give me the pick-me-up to help me shake out of it!

I'm happy to see both of you guys powering on Dave and ChopStickCheese. I have also been having some issues sleeping. Like tonight, it's 03h15. All normal I hear in "early sobriety" let's face it we have been abusing it for years it may take a while to get back to normal.
Dave I also have a brother alcoholic. My older brother. He basically has given up all hope. It's rather complicated. Always is... Personally I disconnect from that now.
I suggest some Ricky Gervais chop. After Life or Life on the Road. Guaranteed to make you feel happy.... well OK laugh anyways

Difficult days happen and some of them can be really testing. Stick to your guns my man. Nothing justifies alcoholism or drugs.
Since getting sober my six years old daughter sticks to me like glue. I couldn't really ask for more. She's a little beauty... They can make you cry & laugh. Today my girl asked me if a banana was an animal. We looked at banana trees on Google and spent 30 minutes learning bananas.
I can't say that I'm cured or that I will never again relapse but I know that tomorrow I will bring my girl to school and go to work feeling good. And for now thats ok for me.

Got a new job offer today. Might be moving to the capital of Germany in the upcoming weeks. Now that would be something, if everything goes through. Couldn't have thought that 4 months ago.

Congratulations on the new job Chop.
I have been to Berlin on a number of occasions for work. I was usually too obliterated in the evenings to have any real memories of the city.

I'm popping in from the January 2019 class to say hello. I wanted to see how the upperclassmen (i.e. those with more seniority in sobriety) were hanging.
I'm nearing 90 days and, suddenly, the thoughts "oh, I did it" and "now I can enjoy a really great glass of wine" is entering my head. So, I wanted to see those near 100 days or so were faring.
My life is way better than it was 90 days ago but I'm suddenly feeling a bit "eh" and also cranky. What was it like for you near 90 days?

I think everyone is different and unique but yes some days the old AV comes knocking and can niggle at you for hours even days...
I have been on this horse many times before and I know that when that complacence settles in its usually time to buckle up and reinforce your plan, tactics, sport, yoga, group, doctor, talk to someone you trust....
I mean who are we kidding right ain't no chance we are going to stop after a few...
