The flu 1. Kenton 0

I thought I could beat off the flu with positivity and smiles. I was wrong. I had such a bad coughing fit this morning, I struggled to get my breath and had to go to an emergency doctor. He told me I have the flu and a chest infection and I need to rest. I then drove to an emergency pharmacy to pick up my antibiotics and had to pull over twice to be sick.... nausea has now decided to join the party. I'm now curled up in bed listening to the kids play with their present's and my husband and his mum prepare Christmas lunch. This is so hard for me. I like being in the thick of things but this illness right now is bigger than me and I need to start treating it with respect. So I'll be spending Christmas day here and I'll celebrate with my family when I feel better. I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and send so much love to each and every one of you. 24 more for me please xxxx

Merry Christmas everyone on SR, thanks one and all for the support when life looked bleak and hopeless. a sober Christmas for me, have to get through the big family dinner tonight but I think I have the tools to make it through sober.

And on going into the house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then opening their treasure bags, they presented to Him gifts—gold and frankincense and myrrh.

And if you are anticipating family drama just remember that we are only responsible for our own reactions! I am working on this every single day. Today I choose love and kindness and I commit to breathing through the difficult moments and the stress.
