24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 424
A final Merry Christmas 2018!
We had a nice day with my hubby's brothers & Families. Ken is 1 of 5 siblings. My Mother-in-Law passed away, this was our 2nd Christmas without her. Laughing at funny times in Christmas' past, and just remembering her total love for her "boys".
My folks & sister were together in Idaho. A sad day actually, my parents long time dog, Shadow, left this world a couple days ago. My Dad has a doggy cemetery on their 20 acres. He makes little markers too. It's very moving, and also always brings about great memories, " Remember when .....??!!"
Ken & I & Mark, together. My Little Family, all home! Life IS all about Family & Love. Being in Recovery, truly is the cherry on top!
Love to you all,
Bobbi
Well just got home from big family dinner and Christmas party, only had my one irritating drunk brother in-law repeatedly offering me drinks and then say right after oh ya you quit, guess he thought that was funny enough to do it several times. Oh well, got through the party sober and had a good time. Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I'm going to get a bowl of ice cream and sit with my three Mastiffs and give them some treats and call it a night, they don't get ice cream, they get dog biscuits.
For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace.
I hope & pray everyone had a blessed Christmas as I did! Today was different than previous years @ least to me coz there was more laughter & great food of course; but someone thought of playing Bible trivia which was mainly for the kids & when they didn’t know the answer, yours truly stepped in. There was a friend there hadn’t seen in more than three yrs but mentioned he had started drinking a lot but was now in better shape; I’m assuming he was told my story but since the atmosphere did not seem good to talk bout recovery, said we’ll keep in touch
24 of gratitude pls

Zepp, I’m pleased you kept sober through the family dinner, ice cream sounds more tempting than booze and you don’t get an hangover with it! I’m sure your three doggies will try to have some of your ice cream!
24 more for me too please.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and sober Christmas xx
