24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 396
10:13 pm in california and checking in for another 24. It has been a sad day around here. On sunday night a 17 year old who just graduated hs, and was heading to college next month was hit and killed while out running. She was on the sidewalk when she was hit. I am so heartbroken for her family, and have been thinking about her, and them all day. Then this afternoon i was driving home from my oldest daughter's physical apppointment and as we were driving on the freeway she said "oh my god mom, a car just flipped onto the freeway. We were driving west, and the suv flipped from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane and hit several cars. When we drove by there were everglades people laying on the street. We called 911, even though i assumed others had as well, just wanted to make sure. They took my daughter's statement regarding what she saw.
Both of these incidents reminded me of the fragility of life. My daughter runs through neighborhoods daily, she is the fastest on her team, so often is first, and alone, i reminded her how aware of her surroundings she needs to be.
There is also the accident. If we had left the doctor 30 seconds earlier that could have been us.
So i guess tonight i am grateful that i have three amazing kids, a great husband, and two puppies who i can hug.
Congrats to all celebrating a milestone today.
