When my husband got home from work yesterday, it was still sunny so he got our sun loungers and put them on the grass ... the sun loungers have been stacked up against the outside of our house since last summer. Anyway, he didn't realise but 2 robins had made a nest in the sun loungers. As he moved them, the nest fell and 3 baby birds fell onto the ground. We put on gloves and placed the babies back in the nest and then placed the nest in a nearby tree...wasn't safe to leave it on the ground. A little later, the 2 robins flew back to where the nest had been. They kept flying around but didn't seem to see where the nest had been moved to. So I put some bread on the branch by the nest. It took a little while but eventually one of the robins flew close to the nest. He/she seemed reluctant to approach the nest.... maybe thought it was a trap? Anyway, in the end both robins flew to the nest and after a while one robin flew away again and returned with a worm which I'm hoping means the babies are OK and ready to be fed. I was worried they would have the scent of humans on them but I'm tentatively hopeful that the relocation went OK. Poor robins.... probably thought making a nest in stacked up sunloungers in the UK was a safe bet..... but even here we occasionally sunbathe. Hope they make their nests in the trees from now on.

Oh, and the funniest part of this story happened after I put the bread on the branch..... I never thought I'd see a large, clumsy labrador attempt to climb a tree but ever the optimist my dog had a go!! He didn't get the bread. He tried to run up the tree trunk, fell over and then pretended nothing had happened. Bless him.

I found out some very heavy and distressing info yesterday, that I will not share...Dark and horrible events. I find more compassion for the screw ups my family (and thus me- I need to allow empathy for me too) had in the light of such terrible stuff.
No thinks of booze....long gone are cravings or thoughts- I seek resolution and closure. The news explains a lot.

I'm all over the place tbh. I understand Snufkin cause I think I'm in a similar place to you. It's so hard to keep making the right decisions but one minute at a time. I just feel confused about everything again.

I'm off to the inlaws for the night, which feels like a safe place to be. I'll try and check in later but I just needed to touch base just now with you all.
