Class of July 2013 Part 51
Hi Julyers,
I hope everyone is fine and dandy. I know we’ve had some sick Julyers; hope all are on the mend.
Petercrab, best wishes and support to you...
Short update regarding the unending “trials and tribulations of Croutie.”
I actually have some news that’s not awful for a change!
DIL has a wonderful family in their neighborhood who have offered their finished basement to them. It’s very nice with a separate entrance as well as a kitchen. Such a lovely gesture; my faith in mankind is restored! The beauty of this is that the Girls’ won’t have to change schools like they would if they came to live with us.....they stay in the neighborhood they are used to with their friends. With all they are going through it is great they don’t have to change everything in their lives.
AND, we don’t have to turn our lives upside down to accommodate them. Although we were willing, it would not have been easy.
I am so thankful for all concerned....it’s a much better solution, even though it isn’t a long term solution.
DS seems to be doing ok. He can receive and write letters, but no visits for a month. After a month, he can have visitors every Sunday afternoon. No phones ever. It’s tough but it’s what he needs.
He will have a 3 day pass once a month to come home after he is there 3 months, as long as he is following the rules, etc.
This residential facility is a Godsend for our family.
Love you guys,
Croutie

People are so good. ❤️
I had to wait till the weekend before I started.
Went nearly 4 days without sleep before passing out.
I did the whole drunk stuff while my daughter was growing up. Many regrets, but I can't go back, only forward. So get it under control so you wont have regrets my friend.

One heck of a fantastic husband and father!
Oh Croutie I’m so pleased for you and your DH and marvellous news for dil. Sounds like your son is doing good. Long may it reign.
Hi Leigh, Gilmer, bob, Pete, snoozy, Dee and all Julyers.
Bob, you did well to stop when you did. I grew up with my dad drunk most days, it led to many rows and regrets.

Hi everyone
I'm so glad to read your news Croutie
Bob the longer I'm sober the more I leave the regrets in the past. It took what it took for me to get here. but now I'm here I'm never leaving again
Pete, hows it going?

You know I was looking at my (friends) list the other day. It saddens me to see so many names that just don't visit the forums anymore. But, It makes me happy to see the ones that do stay close.
Hope everybody is having a nice day/night.
I feel the same way Dee. But, it's still time I can't get back.
