I'd go back and look at your recovery plan Steve - there should be something in place to deal with a snap decision to drink - whether it's posting here, calling someone or something else..
congrats to Ambuler and FoleyUK on your milestones
and good thoughts to Delilah, Jo, Kris, Leigh and anyone else struggling a little today - tomorrow will be better

Glad that you came right back, stevepearce.
Maybe spend spend some time thinking about the time leading up to the drinking - your mindset, the situation in which you drank - as they say that a relapse begins a while before we pick up. Shore up the holes in your plan by formulating a way to counter the mindset leading up to the drinking and to avoid the situation or to counter your behavior during the same or similar situations.
Above all, move forward in your commitment to sobriety.
Stay close; talk to us; lean on us.

Like gregknight, I am also checking in from Idaho. I'm in for another 24, please!!! I usually forget to check in on the weekends since I'm so busy these days - it's great to be sober!
On another, almost disturbing note, my step-sister is busy posting pictures all over Facebook of her drunk 45 year old self and her daughter (my niece) who she decided to take to Vegas for her 21st birthday. Ugggghhhh. It's so sad. I can't think of a more awkward way to spend time with my mom than getting plastered in Vegas for the weekend. Different strokes, I guess.

Really struggling today. One of my best friends is taking me out for dinner and I have never hung out with her without our kids and My AV is SCREAMING at me today to have a drink. She knows what I am going through although she doesn't understand alcoholism. I am going to keep myself accountable and tell her I am struggling to ensure we go somewhere that does not serve booze. I know I am also hungry so maybe if I have a protein shake before we meet that will help.
Any words of support would be much appreciated. It's my birthday week. I knew this would happen. I've been feeling so strong up until this point too.
