24 Hour Recovery Connection Part 235
Good morning marvellous people
It is Sunday go out and enjoy it.
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear not absence of fear.
—Mark Twain
It is not unusual to feel afraid. It is unusual, however, to hear anyone admit to feeling afraid. Sometimes we think there are some people who are so cool and calm that they never feel afraid. This may make us think we're not as good because we know how often we feel afraid. This is why it is important to think about what courage really is. It is not the absence of fear. Courage is not letting fear stop us from doing what we need to do.
We might have to get up in front of a group to give a speech. We could give in to our fear and not give the speech, or we could admit our fear to those who love us, and then go ahead and do the best we can. To go ahead in the face of fear is courage.

“Replace excuses with effort, replace laziness with determination and everything else will fall into place.”
6:20am in Alberta and its going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Thank You Lord for this past week of sobriety. Could you please maybe pass along my 24 today to someone still struggling?
Thanks Dee!

Beautiful day to be sober! Praying and committing to 24 hours of santiy at 9:35am.
I have a lot on my list, but need to carve out time for reading recovery specific
items. My day begins with my devotional, prayer and journaling. A bit of time spent on recovery is needed to keep me on track. I'll probably have to do it when I eat lunch as I'll never get to work if I add it to my morning routine.
Sending positive vibes to everyone for a safe, peaceful and sober 24 hours.

Power on, dear bandi!!!!
Good job jsm for staying the course!! You should be so very proud of yourself!
As an active drinker your brother probably doesn't realize how hard that was for you to sit in a bar and watch him and others drink.
My brother has been sober for almost 20 years and it was only in my own sobriety that I realized how he must have struggled without family support. He was one of my first amends.
Proud of you my friend and wishing you a good Sober day
Well today I've done a bit more than just "survive". Got a bit of work done and some chores and played with the kids. Been checking my resting heart rate all day (yes I'm that paranoid) at intervals and it seems okay. I'm thinking about going to the docs on the morning to get bp checked out and maybe get something to help with the anxiety.
Getting pretty tired now (got very little sleep last night) but I'm trying not to nap today so I'm nice and tired for bed.
Still got a long long way to go before I feel my usual self but at least I've not caved in.
Hope everyone is having a lovely day.
