I always look forward to seeing each and every one of you here! I hope to see you all here again tomorrow!!
Today is an anniversary of sorts for me. It's been 9 months since I took over the 24 hour list for Courage2. When I started the list, I was approaching 9 months of sobriety. That sober time has now doubled.
The list has continued to grow and we have around 72 people per day check in. I am grateful to everyone here that checks in. The support on this thread has helped keep me sober many days and I am eternally grateful to all of you. Thank you all for help making this place as amazing as it is.
We have a lot of people that do a lot of work to make this place special including venuscat, soberleigh and Kris47 to where I wanted to make a special mention of them since the thread wouldn't be the same without their presence. Thank you for all that you do!!
Some fun facts about putting together the list:
1. I double-check those that regularly check-in each day if missing them on the list.
2. I forgot to put myself on the list (even with checking in) once. I am notoriously bad about marking myself down. I have to double-check that I put myself on the list each morning.

HOLD BACK NOTHING"
The real tests of the situation are your own willingness to confide and your full confidence in the one with whom you share your first accurate self-survey. . . .Provided you hold back nothing, your sense of relief will mount from minute to minute. The dammed-up emotions of years break out of their confinement, and miraculously vanish as soon as they are exposed. As the pain subsides, a healing tranquility takes its place.
— TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, pp. 61-62
A tiny kernel of locked-in feelings began to unfold when I first attended A.A. meetings and self-knowledge then became a learning task for me. This new self-understanding brought about a change in my responses to life's situations. I realized I had the right to make choices in my life, and the inner dictatorship of habits slowly lost its grip.I believe that if I seek God I can find a better way to live and I ask Him daily to assist me in living a sober life.
I believe that if I seek God I can find a better way to live and I ask Him daily to assist me in living a sober life.
24 more for this grateful passionate alcoholic on my way to recovery.
Hugs + love all around to this wonderful group of people.
