One Year & Over Part 38
I'can't stop sneezing this morning. Must be pollen in the air. Also, wet and cold here
Have a difficult write-up to do at work today, but got a good start on it yesterday.
Making more of an effort to get some exercise.

Good morning, Overs!
Happy b'day FG.
FBL, thanks for the memory - I can rarely remember the names and faces of all these artists but sure do remember the music - in this case especially. Blast from the past :-)
Itchy, I graduated from versed and fentanyl to propofol and find it works much better. The combo works well in the hands of a *very* skilled and observant nurse but is miserable in the hands of many of them. They rely on giving you more when they think you are getting close to waking up (way too subjective) and then there is the recovery time as well). With propofol, one is completely out and wakes up very quickly feeling rested and wide awake. Some insurance policies don't pay for propofol (requires an anesthetist to be present). Luckily mine does.
Mags, your greenhouse sounds like fun

Hi Overs! They have been working me too hard, so I have not been around!
The building with the indoor pool finally got it complete so I have been supervising, dealing with issues and working and sometimes arguing with the contractors.
Hired a young fellow originally from Austria to restore and clean the stone fountain and border around the pool. Did an incredible job... but as an artist, he would stare at a spot forever and then work on it... not satisfied... he would do it again... and then find another place he was not happy about. Finally told him everyone thinks it is great... we are not working on the Vatican, it is a pool in a condo. His last words.. "if anyone does not like it, I will redo." You don't find people with that ethic much, but I had to cut him off or he would tinker with it forever.
So today the pool service company will be here to do some final fitting, fill and test the pump and such. Fingers crossed it will all work after sitting idle for nearly 3 years. (This building does not move fast on anything.)
Other than that, all going well here, sun is out, temps are rising and the cold snap appears to be past. Got the tomatoes, beans and herbs in the garden. I have one volunteer okra that came up. Hope for a good growing season.
Have a good one Overs! ( late FG!)

I am going to a Father-Daughter Dance tonight with my ten year old at her school. A bunch of moms are hosting a party afterwards, as this is our last year together at this school.
I suggested to my wife that we could pawn off a bottle or two of wine that we have accumulated over the past year. We still get wine as holiday gifts and from people whom come over for dinner and don't know I have given up drinking.
I see the world through the eyes of an alcoholic now, and feel a little guilty and hypocritical about bringing "the poison" to the unsuspecting. I know that these folks drink, and people that can drink normally would appreciate the not inexpensive wines I have been given and not go on a bender because of them. Seems a waste to just pour them down the drain. I have to remind myself that 85% of people are not alcoholics.
Conflicted...

Drake,
Glad things are moving forward with the pool.
I can't believe that you have your garden planted already. We used to have relatives in KC and they would tell us stories of the wild day to day weather there.
It's been raining for ten days straight here. I am growing nothing but moss!

I wait until May to plant, since we are beyond cold by then usually. But, in 2014, we had a light snow on May 1st, first May snow fall in 100+ years. We are famous here for rapidly changing weather, which I frankly like.
Most had planted their plots (this is a community garden) before me, I was one of the last.
