Hang in there, Cornpone. I know how you feel. I used to hate being an alcoholic; in fact, sometimes I still don't like the fact that I can't drink like normal people. But today I count myself as being grateful to be an alcoholic in recovery; without being an alcoholic, I never would have made it to recovery. For me, recovery means more than just abstaining from mind-altering substances - it means making peace with my past, getting a God of my understanding, and making way for a better future than I could have ever imagined! I never would've had this hope and chance for a brighter future if it weren't for my becoming an alcoholic. Keep the faith and take it one day at a time!!!
