24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 119
Congratulations on Day 1, janeeb.
I'd like another 24 hours please.
"Wisdom is the clear seeing of the impermanent, conditioned nature of all phenomena, knowing that whatever has the nature to arise has the nature to cease. When we see this impermanence deeply, we no longer cling; and when we no longer cling, we come to the end of suffering." -- Joseph Goldstein

Yay, milestoners!
Come on here and the first thing I see is... Marbles! Great way to start the day.
The birds are still out there busily conversating-'Where is the snow?' I feel like going out there and joining them. This may be a sign I need to get busy and go to work.
24 more please.

. AND NO MORE RESERVATIONS
We have seen the truth again and again: “Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic.”. . . If we are planning to stop drinking, there must be no reservation of any kind, nor any lurking notion that someday we will be immune to alcohol. . . . To be gravely affected, one does not necessarily have to drink a long time nor take the quantities some of us have. This is particularly true of women. Potential female alcoholics often turn into the real thing and are gone beyond recall in a few years.
— ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 33
These words are underlined in my book. They are true for men and women alcoholics. On many occasions I’ve turned to this page and reflected on this passage. I need never fool myself by recalling my sometimes differing drinking patterns, or by believing I am “cured.” I like to think that, if sobriety is God’s gift to me, then my sober life is my gift to God. I hope God is as happy with His gift as I am with mine.
24 more, please. this inactive alcoholic need it.

Good morning, friends. I really do think that folks in recovery are some of the strongest people. It is nice to feel the strength that comes in recovery instead of the shame. I don't know why shame seemed to be my normal feeling for so long, but I do love the rewed energy I feel. I could see it in others, and it isn't something one can force. I believe it is just another natural thing that happens as we progress, perhaps. I do know that coming here to set my intention every day makes a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. There is power in this choice.
