I got my 1 Year chip on Saturday night and I'll celebrate that accomplishment by staying sober for 24 more!!!

Checking in today. I have a rough week ahead. My husband is not going to be home until nearly midnight this week.
I think I might need to start a hang-out-with-me-thread start at the newbies forum to keep me in check. If that's what it takes...

Hi folks, 24 more for me...
Feeling upbeat this evening, had a restful Sunday / Monday even if still sleep deprived.
Thanks Kris for your little messages, always a kind word
Checked on my 2 honeybee colonies today, both doing great and filling comb with fantastic honey (which I only sampled a little of, honestly... Straight from the hive, wax and all like I used to when I was a little boy... soon had my two sons wanting me to go and get more as they helped finish it "it's nicer than sweeties Daddy" from my 4 year old) Happy days!
Feeling a little less introvert and more welcoming of people at long last. I used to have a lot of days when I just wanted to shut myself in a dark room and feel sorry for myself. That's changing, slowly but surely.
I'm thankful for all the support here and elsewhere. Sometimes feel overwhelmed with recovery but I guess after hitting it hard for the best part of 20 years, I have some catching up to do.

I was in a horrible mood before (fight with family member, ex sending hurtful messages) and really wanted to drink. But venting about that in another thread, writing my gratitude list and reading some wonderful things here (especially the bees!!) has really cheered me up

People think I'm crazy with my animals and hobbies, I see it as a form of self contained therapy. It's an excuse to have "me" time, without just saying "I want to be alone" which my partner has trouble with...

We're supposed to get some rain this week! There's so much news everyday about the drought. We'll just have to keep finding new ways to conserve. Well, time to check in for the next 24 hours, thanks to my HP & AA.
