Today is Day 19 for me, and officially my longest streak in 5 years
I went on a first date, at a bar. I like the advice someone here gave not to say I'm abstaining for a specific time - don't want to set the expectation that I might drink later. I made a plan (pre-partying before dates is engrained. I needed a plan). First, I ate an entire footlong sub 2 hours before (after a 12 mile jog, but still). I also ordered water, and asked if he was cool splitting a pizza. Not sure he liked me, but I like that I will remember the convo tomorrow.
I'm feeling really good. For 14 months, I've periodically sat in AA meetings, envious of those who made it to Day 30. I didn't think I could do it. In 11 days, that will be me.
