24-Hour Recovery Connections Part 15
Hi everyone
Bobbi, we are watching the Roosevelt's on PBS too. It's very interesting.
There are two lakes in Eastern North Carolina that are wintering grounds for thousands of migrating birds, including swans. For years, I have wanted to go and see them, but never got there because I was stuck making drinking more important that experiencing life. This winter, I know I'll go. That's the freedom of recovery and I'm so grateful for it.
Take care everyone. I'm really glad for everyone on this thread.
Here for another 24. 7:25 a.m.

The swans are lovely.
Charlee, your story of the congregating swans made me think of this: I was reminded the other day that the bald eagles congregate in huge numbers not too far from me on the Skagit River in the winter. I was married in another lifetime, and we went on a rafting trip down the Skagit 20-some years ago. We saw over 100 eagles that day - they go there to feast on the spawning salmon. I would like to do it again now that I've recovered from being a Codie and I'm in my second recovery from alcoholism. So. I'm doing that. I think it's in January. Good, because I'm stressing staying busy enough in the winter. On our raft that day was a Seattle Times photographer - so I found a Seattle Times/Skagit eagles pic.
I think of you guys during my day. I feel we are in this together and that's comforting. I feel your strength and your collective positive energy. If that's not God-energy, I don't know what is.
24 more, I will be thinking of you.
