waking down

rain this afternoon
much needed straight down drenching
for glorious hours
worked extra again
in my new office trying
to make sense of it
window painted shut
but i can fix that so i
can breathe the fresh air
files in strange chaos
a cluttered mind lurked here for
over a decade
a fifty gallon
drum filled with dated useless
odds and odder ends
move those cabinets
get some feng shui up in here
so claustrophobic
this carpet hasn't
seen light since it was first layed
it's sincerely blue
personal items
should i tell her or did she
leave them on purpose
my little buddha
by my pooter screen tells me
i really work here

she resigned angry
and left things in relative
chaos for my joy
then her boss resigned
and then the rest of their team
so we're all rookies
people think i went
from one nightmare to the next
but i don't see it
we're all fresh and new
but with experience and
positive outlooks
they want to go out
for drinks and primal bonding
i think i'll say yes
club soda for me
on ice with a twist of lime
my virgin cocktail
and left things in relative
chaos for my joy

with almost one year sober
not gonna give in
long walks on the beach
biking trails in the hot sun
can do now, healthy
husband sober too
him almost three months , awesome
I know gratitude
It's still a struggle

We fight the good fight

we are blessed with sight
