Great story about your grandma She certainly lived a full life!
I'm tucked into my bed, sleepytime tea at my side and NyQuil gel caps taken. Time to get some sleep and beat this cold for the start of the week. Signing up for another 24 hours at 11:40 PM in Indiana.

in no way glamorizing The Circus. I understand this is a sensitive issue for many, I am just
sharing a part of my childhood, please read on.

Roster will be posted at 10 pm EST USA 11/11.
Miss You Grama!
My Grama died a little less than a year ago.
She was 100 years young. She lived an incredible life!
She raised her children until they were adults and left the home and then became a Circus
performer/animal trainer at around the age of 45.
Performed in Shrine Circus's all over the Midwestern United States for the next 20 years.
Was on Bozo's Circus here in the States. TV shows such as What's My Line and To Tell
The Truth and also on the cover of Life Magazine
There was nothing my grandmother could not do. She was completely fearless. She could get
in a ring with tigers, elephants and sea lions without blinking an eye.
From the age of 65-75 she and my grandfather drove the semi-trailer with their elephants and
did promotions for Waterbed stores and had the elephant walk across the water bed and
gave elephant rides to children.
Obviously my views have changed on the whole Circus thing and animals being taken out of the
wild to perform in circuses. And I do support PETA. It no longer makes me happy to see.
And I do apologize if these pictures have upset anyone.
But the point I am really trying to make is that many of us who are middle aged may feel like life
has passed us by, that we wasted many years to our drinking and or drugging and that our lives
are over and there is no hope.
My grama was a living example that you can start a new life anytime you choose if you have
the courage and determination.
Grama lived independently and unassisted until the day she passed peacefully in her
own home.
Rest In Peace Grama until we meet again!

I know this is just a sign up sheet, but it felt I needed to be honest. I will change my sober date right now.
Deeker, your grandmom's story has inspired me that it's not too late for me to start living my life. Thanks.
Deeker, you Grama is an inspiration! You are never too old to break out and live your dream, and her smile in every picture is the same! I too grew up with seeing circus animals, and as a child I loved it, unaware as I was then of the ethics of it all. Awesome Lady, you obviously have her genes running strongly through your blood sweetie!
My performing dog, Molly says hi, ( she 'performs' in the garden on command!!) another 24 in Tootsville please!

Signing in for another 24 hours. It's 10:35 am and a nice sunny day after a wet and windy weekend. I have an appointment in an hour with my orthodontist. Hopefully it won't be too painful (and hopefully the bill won't be too painful either)
Have a good day everyone x

Deeker - your grandma was an inspiration and still is. I think it is very important for people in recovery or still in the throws of addiction to have hope that its not too late to turn their life into something good and exciting.
Signing up for another 24.
