Thanks JumpnOn2

Put my laptop on now can type a bit better.

Kadidee i never tried writing before but i am finding putting my thoughts down on this forum a great help in focusing my mind. The support here is overwhelming.

Personal crisis, I have calmed down now but my emotions are so strong and raw finding it hard to deal with the least little problem big ones just floor me so used to drowning everything out with wine or vodka or well anything really never been than fussy if my drink of choice wasn't available i would take what ever was available.

Need to work on a plan for tomorrow it really has helped today.

Take care my fellow classmates ride out those cravings they do pass yay local shop is now closed and i feel quite calm finally going to put a film on put my feet up xx

ps love those smilys cant do those on my phone

Glad making a coping plan worked for you today Talia!
You're smart to make a new plan for tomorrow too.
You're showing your addiction you are onto it and that you are one step ahead...
and that you mean business!

I know the calm you are describing Tallia, when the shops are closed or when you know you've beaten it for another day and can relax and plan for tomorrow. Good job.

Stay close Zazz.. keep posting!
Make a commitment to at least post before you decide to cross that line and drink. That will at least postpone your action and give you time to reconsider.

I always told myself if I still wanted to drink the next morning then I could.
(But see, the next morning I was always so glad I didn't drink!)

That shower felt great...

Good to actually be able to take a nice relaxing non rushed shower and actually remember I did.

It's the small normal things that I'm surprised at!

Waiting to feel 'normal' again... But as I was taking the shower I realized I don't know what 'normal' is... So I guess for now.... This is my normal... :-).

Hope everyone is staying strong!

I just moved to another state. I am going to fine a meeting and actually work the program and get in touch with a therapist. Any suggestions?

LOL Thanks for that reassurance Rusty.....

Jump, good for you, glad to hear it, though you're wise to stay aware.
I found that when things got easy and I thought "oh I got this" that was when my Addiction's voice popped up sneakily. Oh, it is clever....

I actually made it home without that dreadful stop. But, I took the long way home. I was able to cook dinner, wash the dishes, put in some laundry, and numerous other things. Something that has never been accomplished before this evening. I have been keeping super busy and it has helped. There is 1 hour before the liquor store closes. I want to make that hour. Once the liquor store closes I should be good.

Happy to hear you've got yourself a plan, Ghostface. Smart move.
When I joined SR I suddenly realized that before SR, when I considered quitting, I had no plan and no support. Having both once I got with SR made the difference.

Wow Serenity. Keeping busy is a good plan. If you have to, stay on SR for that hour. Whatever it takes. I know you can do this!
