What about buying yourself some superb coffee instead yestofreedom? It's your choice what you buy.

Toots, Panache, thanks for the support as ever. That situation put me in a right crappy mood but i'm back now, there was a brilliant program on Channel4 in the UK at 10pm tonight, I need not say anymore because if you watched it, you will know what i'm talking about.

Anyway, Marching on to day 6 I go, went out for a nice meal tonight, watched a film when we got home. Tomorrow I FINALLY get some free time, seems like i've missed a hell of a lotta posts today, which gives me something to do in the morning

I go out and look at my recycling bin quite often, just to see how much space there is in there!

Phebe, I find it helpful to think about the situation, exactly what I will be having to drink and pouring that drink quick smart so that is no opportunity for me to dither or give people the opportunity to pour me a drink. I firmly say "No thanks, I'm not drinking".

I think AV messes with us when these times come up. The not drinking becomes the huge "thing" that masks the occasion and fills it instead with "I'm not drinking, how bad will that be, I won't have any fun".

The not drinking is actually not even particularly relevant when you think about it. What is the occasion? Easter brunch? You're getting together with your Mum and family to enjoy lamb, roast potatoes and asparagus (yum!) and enjoy each other's company on a spring Sunday. Go ahead and enjoy it.

Hello peeps,

It has been hectic in Sassy-land! I'm doing well and not counting days. I will be away until Sunday afternoon and I don't take cellphones, tablets, computers, etc with me when I travel (yep - I'm an old-fashioned biddy, lol).

You all look like you are more than capable of keeping this place going without me so I will just say "Ta-Ta, see you on Sunday afternoon!

(((hugs)))
Sassy

Marchers right phebe - think about possible scenarios beforehand, have a plan - if you're prepared and you're firmly committed to not drinking, I don't think you'll go far wrong

Hi everyone - hope you're all doing well! I'm onto day 8, which feels pretty good. Had a bad night though when I found out my boyfriend (of seven years) told his brother and a close mutual friend all about my problems. It really, really hurt and I felt completely betrayed. I understand he is suffering when I'm drinking, but it doesn't help me to have my blood and guts exposed. I feel really vulnerable now, and like a total loser. I wish he hadn't done that. Am I right to be angry at him? I feel like with this disease, working through it privately is an important part of the process...
