Welcome Innerchild and Bizooky!
I am happy to report that I now weigh under 200 pounds. Yay me! It is really easy to keep my calorie intake down when I am not drinking alcohol lol.
Oh, one more thing. We are approaching 500 posts in this thread. I believe that happens this thread will be closed and we will be moved over to the newcomers daily support section. So if we suddenly disappear from here, go look for us there.

Day 12 for me too. I was up last night quite late. I wasn't out drinking at the bars. I was at the hospital waiting for my daughter-in-law to give birth.
At around 5 this morning she gave birth to a, what I assume is beautiful, 8lb 2 oz girl named lilli (not sure on the spelling but know it is unconventional.)
You can call me Grumpy Grampy from now on if you wish.

Just checking in at the another sober day to register my gratitude to everyone here for helping me follow the programme today. That's nine days since my last drink and tonight I even went to a bar with friends to see a band. I ordered a lovely non-alcoholic cocktail. One of my friends had a water and the other had a beer, his first for a couple of weeks. Hardly a big session!

Just checking in, end of day 12.
Not sure what is wrong with me today. Been feeling down all day and just had the worst football training session for years. No mojo , very low effort levels, bad touch. Feeling down is something that never really happens to me - tend not to get mood swings (unless hungover).
You would have thought my body/energy levels should be on the way up, seems the opposite for me.
Thanks for listening, rant over!! Am off to eat something bad for me!!!

Day 12 almost over for me too...still going strong, and my conviction to sobriety is solid. Actually started back at the gym yesterday and today...and I was thinking, driving home after a good workout, that it felt good...i was actually content sober..who'd a thunk?

My car needed $400 worth of repairs today (oh joy) and after I picked the car up I went to the grocery store to get something for dinner. Thought a bit about getting some wine, but then decided not to. Glad I didn't.

and then invariably we tend to lose people who join after that date, or people who miss the link to Part 2...
soooooo.....we're going to leave part 2 in Newcomers, until the end of the current month.
We'll see how that works out
