Sammy will look like a wet mop

My shibas have an almost waterproof coat, water actually 'beads up' on it, almost, and when they shake themselves they're nearly dry. But I do keep a 'dog towel' right by the door for days like this.

WTS, if you can manage to get your moods 'under control' please let me in on your method... ;-)

the dog just absorbs water like a wet sponge....I have a variety of "dog towels" also, and yes, one stays by the front door....i learned the hard way with my Akita....tile floor, wet drippy dog coming for his cookie, me in bare feet, i propelled forward breaking my nose and elbow that time.

BTW, no alcohol was involved, i was hurrying to get to the gym that day.

thinking of our brave Humblebee who has endured so much lately....we are all pulling for you and your sister during her surgery.

and waiting for updates from both you and RZ.

although we have rec'd any Isis updates lately, i am guessing she is up to her old tricks and Bam is out purchasing new TP?

i have no real whines other than I regret purchasing the LARGE bottle of musinex that cannot be returned....my cough is rattling around in my chest.

My only whine is a tiny one... FFD refuses to go outside for potty when it's raining... how long can he hold it?? What a maroon!

Fandy, I like to keep a rug at the front door for wiping wet shoes and paws... but beagirl ALWAYS pees on it!!! So no rug on the floor cause she uses it as a 'potty pad'...

Isis is doing well...she can't keep out of the fridge every time someone opens it...she runs around like a crazy cat...took a flying leap at the wire to the controller of my video game system while I was playing...and almost knocked the whole thing off the stand. Bad kitty.

I love her. She helps to keep me sane...and on my toes.

Welcome Carlos - but I didn't need to know about the spiders I've eaten.

HB - anxiously awaiting news of your sister.

RZ - I don't get why Nan's condition keeps flaring up. She must be miserable.

Bam - Sane and on your toes - that's exactly how I feel about my dogs - caring for them helped me get over myself.

It's going from the 60's to the 40's here, with high winds & rain. Not looking forward to wet dogs - especially the Mastiff - it's like drying off a horse. Old man winter had to come knocking sooner or later, but I'm not ready.

I believe in the power of prayer and positive energy and am so humbled and grateful for yours.

You are the best whiner family a gal could have.

Sis is out of surgery (whew)!

While they did have to remove the whole thyroid (there was a chance of only removing half), there were no surprises.

Get well prayers going out for my whiner brothers and sisters who have coughs, colds, congestion, bugs, wet dogs, school and mood frustrations and overall whines du jour.

And prayers for significant others ((nanz)).

Thanks for your special note ((Fands))...I think the lesson that Someone is trying to teach me *is* endurance.

Like Isis, you guys help to keep me sane...I'm so grateful.

I love her. She helps to keep me sane...and on my toes.

My dogs and cats do the same for me, as well as assuring me I am loved.

Humble Bee - once again God be with your and your family.

Bam - I lived in South Africa - affectionately known as the rainbow nation - so sending some serene Mandela types vibes to you!!!! In SA, there is still racism, on all sides you may find it, but the great thing is, you can take someone to court for racist comments of any kind. Gotta love that.

Fandy..........dying of stupidy.... LOL .... I would agree I too almost died from stupidity...............insanity of alcohol.....ah I like your description better, I was insanely stupid when it came to drink.

SNOW.......treacherous icy roads........IDIOTS who drive too fast, manoeuver too quickly and jam on the brakes or just total ignorance of how much consideration needs to be given to stopping distances on icy roads.........I saw three seperate accident aftermaths today.
That is my official whine for today.

Good moaning

Ditto to AFI, Fandy...LOVEDLOVEDLOVED the comment "died from stupidity"....

Bam, Sadly, people are bigoted everywhere. I see it here too...almost as if the lowest on the totem pole gets S%^&t heaped upon them. The totem poles are different, but the bigotry is the same. Here, the islanders look down on the Haitians and I'd bet money that, in Haiti, there is a group that is perceived as "lesser" than the Haitians. I'm not excusing it, mind, just stating my observation. Pack mentality, really.

Isn't that depressing.....

On a cheerier note, I'm glad your sis is alright, HB! I'm sure that it's a relief to have that over! Here's praying...now...for a speedy recovery!

HideorSeek - I think you nailed it, regarding the bigotry thing. It's made me sick all my life - thought we'd know better by now.

Ann I thought you were there already. We drive from Michigan to Florida in 22 hours....pulling a trailer(Mr. LTT's hobiecat)!

But then again if you are going for 4 MONTHS I guess the trip down is part of the trip...can't wait until we can do that!

Hbee....good to hear, now you will sleep better....I know all the circumstances have been trying to say the least. (no pun intended)

Bam, I once had a cat that "picked" the seal on the freezer...not to be confused with the one that picked the wallpaper.

Hevyn, i can just imagine drying that dog off!...one of the doctors i work with had a beautiful deerhound, she was huge-tall and a big fraidy cat....however, they are prone to cardiac issues.....the dog was 2 years old, walked into her bedroom howled and dropped dead on the carpet....when she told me, my first question was "how did you move the body"?

Sammy won't use the pee-pads...Fandy likes to lay on them like they are his special blanket?

LTT, drive safely and wave when you arrive.

A lizard came in the hotel room..Queeny left the patio door open because it was such a nice night. I cannot find him. I have my "lizard protection gear" on which includes t-shirt over my head...and am glad we are moving tomorrow.

Love nature, just not in my room.
