Did anyone notice how this thread started weird? It looks like the ending from the last Bottoms thread.

Something happened in the beginning of the week, it said thread closed due to technical issues, and then it opened up here. I don't know what happened.

I just stuck my window ac in the upstairs window and turned it on full blast, very cold. It's not installed just right but it has reduced the temp in my den by two degrees! Terribly hot in Ohio lately. We've had such a cool summer and now we're getting blasted by a heat wave.

Thank God the high today is only supposed to be 80. My neighbor came over last evening and installed both ac units. It helped a lot last night.

Today is pk's birthday. I'm babysitting so she and her sister ck can go to dinner at a local cafe. Have my counseling appt today, wasn't able to go last week due to a terrible migraine, so will be glad to go today and tell her how life has been for me since coming home from my vacation to eldest daughter's house. My homecoming was not pleasant, to say the least, and it's been a struggle to stay sane and sober, but I'm at least staying sober if not sane!

Both kids are out of the house for a while so I've got some peace and quiet for a bit. Just me and the dogs. Took a nap for a while and woke up still tired. At least it's not as hot as it had been here. It's only 80 today and a bit of a breeze. I'm trying to work up some ambition to wash the huge pile of dishes all over the kitchen. Maybe do it in parts, as the whole mess is overwhelming. Oh well, I've got all day to do them...

Got an appt with shrink today. Will ask him for a change of meds to see if that helps the overwhelming depression lately. Other than that I will try to get the huge pile of dishes washed since the kids won't do it. I've asked and asked but they haven't done it yet. Tomorrow is my damn birthday but i don't feel like celebrating at all. I'm another year older, that's all.

Other than that, things are just hunky dory here.

thank you both for your birthday wishes but all I feel is regret for 58 wasted years... You and my dogs are the only ones happy for this birthday tomorrow and if I can get thru today I might feel more like celebrating tomorrow... but not today...

I did manage to wash half the 'birthday dishes' the kids left for me so I guess they DO care after all, by leaving something for me to do to feel useful.:rotfxko

Found more dirty dishes in their rooms and all over the house... they DO love me after all! They know I'm not truly happy unless I'm cleaning up after them... like when they were little toddlers... and now they're GREAT BIG TALL toddlers! But I'm glad they still need me to wipe their butts, so to speak...:rotfxko

I will NOT let Bottoms die... even if I have to revive it single-handedly! Just cancelled my insurance policy, which means I'll get a small check for the cash surrender value. That will pay a couple bills so that's a good thing.

It seems it will be good birthday weather today. Not even up to 80 degrees F and a bit of wind. So can give the ac units a rest... which will be good for my electric bill!

Now am taking it easy since dk isn't home yet and ck is still sleeping.
